"Major motorcycle rallies are associated with increases in organ donors involved in motor vehicle crashes, according to a study published this week in JAMA Internal Medicine."

@cyrilpedia BTW, how do you indicate your willingness to donate organs in the US? Do you know, by any chance?

@charlottekl In the US I've usually seen it most commonly indicated on the driver's license. But since these vary from state to state, I'm not sure how general it is

@cyrilpedia That makes sense. I don't have a US driver's license, but I also sincerely hope I won't be eligible for as an organ donor during my US-based postdoc...

@charlottekl I don't know if Mass does this, but I have lived in States that had a non-driver's driver license for ID (still issued at the Dept of Motor Vehicle)

@charlottekl Also, absurd as it may sound, when I was in NY I could not donate blood because coming from Europe they were afraid of... BSE!

@cyrilpedia I have no idea either tbh... My German ID works for most purposes here, and when it doesn't, my passport does.

@charlottekl This was useful for me also because it reduced the need to carry a passport - I think it was valid for boarding domestic flights, for example. But that changes a lot (I last lived in the US in 2017).
