I have huge respect and admiration for Bess Frost. But Abeta is NOT “clearly the initiating factor” for #Alzheimers. The genetics formally point only to the precursor - APP - and its C-terminal cleavage. The absence of beta- or alpha-secretase mutations for AD is incompatible with an Abeta driven mechanism.
That said, tau is very much in play, and the relationship to cell cycle and the activation of viral elements is fertile ground for exploration.
