I enjoy all manner of outdoor pursuits outside the lab and love to create by baking and crafting.

Hi everyone! Here's my #introduction. I'm a PhD student working on fungal #genetics in the USA. I never found a lot of fungal geneticists at that ~other place~ (my PI doesn't use it, for instance) but I hope to have better luck here. I study regulation of nitrogen metabolism and would love to talk shop. #fungi

A couple tips getting started:

- To actually boost someone's post so others see it, you have to do the "boost" icon 🔁 . If you just favourite it, it only tells the author you liked it (but doesn't feed into any sort of algorithm).
- Your instance/server matters a bit, but connectivity improves the more follows/followers you have. Growing pains are over quickly.
- Do an intro post and spam #keywords . Others will boost to help you out! 😀
