The 1940s were the Wild West of nuclear physics at Los Alamos. One scientist was doing criticality experiments with a plutonium core where the only tool preventing the beryllium shield from dropping over the core and making it go critical was a screwdriver held in his hand. The screwdriver slipped and the scientist received 10 Grays of radiation. He didn’t live much longer.

If so, your virus probably isn't as pure as you imagine.
We showed that using standard production techniques, the incorporation of plasmid DNA contaminants directly upstream of the AAV P5 promoter.
When you conduct gene transfer, these sequences are transferred and can be transcribed, translated, and potentially immunogenic!! 😬😬
Core message: Find a way to reduce or remove P5 related contaminants from your AAV

GRAVEYARD GUN (c.1820) - used to prevent bodysnatchers from stealing corpses to sell to anatomists. Set at the foot of a grave, the gun would have had three tripwires around it. One such gun reportedly killed a grieving father by accident. Coffin collars, fixed around the necks of a corpse and bolted to the bottom of a coffin, were also used to keep bodies in their graves.

"To study the dynamics of recombination among clinically significant #coronavirus lineages we developed a novel web-based software, IDPlot, that incorporates multiple analysis steps into a single user-friendly workflow. Analyses performed by IDPlot include multiple sequence alignment, nucleotide identity analysis, and tree-based breakpoint prediction using the GARD algorithm from the HyPhy genetic analysis suite (Kosakovsky Pond et al. 2006). IDPlot also allows the direct export of sequence regions to NCBI Blast to ease the identification of closest relatives to recombinant regions of interest. The IDPlot output is uniquely interactive and user-friendly, in particular, easing analysis of GARD results through an interactive display of iterative model fit improvement."
