@junecasagrande I think there has never been a shortage of Russophobia. The U.S. also meddles in foreign elections, rather blatantly and unabashedly—e.g., sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela for electing the “wrong” president. Heck, the audio recording of a CIA director got leaked saying “we need to install *our guy* as president” after the Maidan Revolution in Ukraine

@junecasagrande Not that election meddling is justified because we do it too, but prefacing it with “autocracies” kinda lets the U.S. off the hook. We should focus on preventing election meddling across the board, regardless of political system

@daeyoung Yes, but even people who don't care about democracy on a global scale should care that a thug like Putin is trying to steal their vote.
