@tristansnell Granted, at least this is my understanding, this is only a temporary stay for a broader appeal by Trump's team AND the $175m has to be paid (and a bunch of other stuff done) in the next 10 days for it to move forward.
Interestingly enough - these were mostly Dems, women, and minority judges that sat on this ruling. It is an odd case of Trump (who has a history of sexual harassment and racism) being treated (in a way he would consider) fairly.
Now, are you going to ever see this sort of decision made for a guy who stole a loaf of bread? Probably not. I believe there is a level of $$ in which law changes behavior, Trump is obviously at that level. We will eventually see Musk charged and convicted of something and avoid repercussions in the same manner I'm sure.
I do wonder if @FinchHaven 's point is a valid one - was there some measure of that in the decision?
