Another cracking thread from @kamilkazani (on bird site unfortunately) on possible outcomes from the #RussiaCoup.
Oh good, @kamilkazani Is awake:
"What is happening in Russia?
The mutiny is real. It is also unlikely to succeed. Most probable outcome is:
1. The mutiny fails
2. The regime stands (for a few months)
3. Upon its suppression, regime becomes increasingly dysfunctional -> falls
In other words, Kornilov putsch"
(May be start of another insightful thread)
Peskov: Putin had given orders to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Federal Security Service, Russian Guard Service due to the "attempted armed rebellion". A VChK-OGPU source commented on the situation in Moscow's Federal Security Service and Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: "Everyone is up, arrived urgently. Now all the offices are like one big after-party. 80% of the staff reek of alcohol. Some of them can hardly stand on their feet. They can't be armed or sent anywhere. Friday night's the perfect time to start something like this. Everybody's standing around, waiting for something. No introductions. A couple of hours more and there'll be conflicts amongst them when they start to sober up".
Russian media report that Internet access is being limited in Russia.
Only 25% of Russians now have access to Google. Many are experiencing issues with accessing the website. https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1672370307443613696
It looks like Wagner PMC declared war on Russian defense ministry.
After a reported rocket strike on rear location of Wagner's mercenaries, Prigozhin accused Russian MoD and swore to punish the guilty ones and Shoigu personally.
"There's 25,000 of us and we're coming to figure out why there's such chaos in the country", Prigozhin declared.
Is this the start of a civil war in Russia?
I wrote something because I could no longer stay silent. I hope you won't either.
We hear echoes in 2023 America of the Nazi Party’s propaganda and the violence it wrought. Elie Wiesel, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and Holocaust survivor, said, “We must always take a side. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”

Here's another great article about The Union, going into further detail on the flawed settlements around devolution: https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/brexit/2021/04/23/the-uks-union-has-been-fractured-by-brexit/
"Two features stand out: the failure to change constitutional understandings and practices at the centre; and the continued position of England as the dominant partner, but constitutionally unrecognized as such.
...
English constitutional assumptions continue to govern the Union while much of the UK government continues as if there were still a unitary state with devolution tacked on."
Just in case it's not obvious, I'm still furious about #brexit.
The pathetic excuses given for doing it, spread by liars and fools.
It was not in the county's strategic or tactical best interests, but more importantly it was morally wrong.
At it's heart was racism and xenophobia, which I will never support.
I've posted a lot of tweets with Prigozhin today.
He's intensifying his criticism of Shoigu and Russian defense ministry.
Putin shows no reaction to this. Ergo, Putin has his own interest in these events.
Possibly, we will soon see either some new appointments or new accidents.
Like Chekhov said: "If in the first act you have hung a pistol on the wall, then in the following one it should be fired." It seems a "shot" might come soon.
Seeing as we're talking about undoing #Brexit again, a reminder that the UK has never been a nation-state, and our constituent nations *gained* sovereignty under the EU.

This looks awesome. "I'm a Virgo" is by Boots Riley, the guy who did the brilliant "Sorry To Bother You" (and a long history of activism and music before that). https://youtu.be/PSyKhFwEo7c
There has been a ton of insane footage I have seen of the war in Ukraine conflict. This one features a soldier riding an electric unicycle covered in camoflage fabric, with a 360 degree camera attached to his rifle. He shoots and reloads whilst moving on the device.
(safe for work, only see the rifle being fired, no combat sounds either, just annoying music.)
