Just to summarize this week.
G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan
--> no Russia
Arab League Summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
--> no Russia
Central Asian Summit in Xian, China
--> no Russia
This is how a former power disappears from the world stage. Especially the Central Asian Summit is an epic disaster for Moscow. China was not interested to have Russia even for symbolic reasons there.
Thank Putin, his oligarchs and their fascist but also failing "Russkiy Mir" fever dream for that development.

The case for public ownership
English water firms have handed £57 billion to shareholders in the 30 years after privatisation
By contrast, Scottish Water - which is publicly owned - has invested nearly 35 per cent more per household in infrastructure than the privatised English firms, charging 14 per cent less and not paying out dividends.
Question: are they doing this because of Government pressure, or public? Knowing that eventually someone's going to call them to task, even if it isn't the current mob.

#Google just announced that going forward, any account not logged into for two years gets deleted.
This means huge amounts of rare or unique #video is about to disappear from #YouTube as accounts get flagged as inactive, such as when the user dies. Families' #HomeMovies (often posted by an older relative for their family's benefit), historical footage, rare #television clips, etc. What an incalculable loss to human #history and culture!
If there are videos important to you on someone else's video channel, find a way to download them. And if you have rare #media of historical importance, consider leaving it to institutional #archives or lending it to archives for digital preservation.

My takeaway is that the problem is that the NHS cannot cope, and naturally private companies exploit this as they do everything else.
The blame for this situation, for these wrong diagnoses, exploitation of desperate people and failing services, is with thirteen years of ideological destruction of socialised #healthcare by the far right Tory governments from Cameron to Sunak, rw media barons etc
And everyone who ever voted Tory.
JFC Virgin mobile customer service bot screwing up a simple query. There's a massive gap between a plan with 2Gb data, and the other option is unlimited data but higher cost. All I want to know is "Can I buy extra data at the end of the month if needed?"
