@dclr42 Not sure what I feel about this post.
A mix of:
- Should I be totally grateful?
- Could there be a better way than dying?
- Were people only interested in dying?
- Is anyway dying still going on and more soft-war also quite the same (just with less visible bodies dying /starving)?
So the post was in general and then mentioned those dying for us "to save our nation"...
- Do I really owe them more then *maybe* a thanks?
They could have actually been doing other things that I might appreciate more (even at the same time as war like talking / working on talking)..
- Not sure I'm proud of "nation" or that feel it's "our nation" on top of that thought.
And quick question for myself so it's not so opposite-looking to your thoughts is:
Q. If there was a war now would I go to fight?
Right now I'd feel like maybe I'd just preparing if they anyone actually came to my doorstep and dealing with it from there - prepare for bombing else... maybe because it's already perhaps feeling like this place is not mine or yours and we'd just have new owners of the same if they did take over (let's say without bombing since we were not giving resistance and more valuable alive than dead)... maybe war is less real today and more able to be 1 big mistake and started pre-maturely... so dealing with it this ways seems less of a mistake.
(I admit back in WW1 or WW2 it's more of a brutal result waiting or doing these things...) But today just a new 'company' or new brand name of country filled with new anonymous people and back-door-people running the same deals and resources (ok Russia might be way worse but again it's not far off what we have now today putting good people in jail etc). So 'going' to fight seems a lesser mistake.
Just my thoughts here on #war #nations #fighting #thanks ?
