I wish I could see all of a Mastadon user's following/followers without having to go to their page on their instance, it would make finding people easier.
@hayden yeah this is a big problem, I hope a workaround is made as Mastodon becomes more popular
@hayden yes, i noticed the same, I was thinking on solutions and retrieving all that data might be very expensive.
However since it’s FOSS and it’s gaining popularity I hope someone comes up with an idea on how to workaround the issue
@diegomagdaleno I think it might be architectural. I have noticed searching for a username of a user on another instance from my instance takes a moment, I think the instances need to link up behind the scenes to handle the query. I wonder if pulling all that data between instances is just too much, it's a big query, or if it can be optimized/cached in some reasonable way.
