The fifth time I’ve had to hard reboot my system, after having installed Linux. Looks like I’m dual-booting Windows after all, this Linux-only experiment has run for months and has had its fun parts, but the results are clear.

I know that a lot of people have the opposite experience, but I have rarely experienced these famed “stability problems” on Windows, and certainly not to the level I’ve experienced them on Linux over many many years.

@digital_carver@qoto.org truth is that you need the right hardware or Linux will not run nicely.

@digital_carver
Which distro?

I'm using Manjaro/KDE, and pretty happy with it. Have got Windows on a dual boot laptop, for the few times per year when I need to use the flatbed scanner (stupid Canon drivers...)

Ironically, I'm currently trying to fix my PC, for a while now, but memtest just confirmed that it's a hardware problem. Also, 90% of my software problems are because I had the brilliant idea to combine a huge stack of old HDDs into a Frankensteinian BTRFS RAID array.
