I was sad when Google+ died because it was a place I could find scientists writing about what they were passionate about, and having curious conversation.
The birdsite had some of that, but the interface worked against it and constantly tried to pull you away from that and towards mainstream drama/entertainment/consumption culture.
I hope this #twittermigation results in a return to what we had on G+, this time on an actual Open platform!
