bird site talk

I’ve probably visited the bird site more times in the past couple weeks than I ever have in the past.

I made an account in the very early days, didn’t see the point of the site, and rarely used it. When I finally did want a microblogging network, and were ready and more appealing.

But now I keep seeing posts about how so much is changing there and how X happened and Y is about to happen, and it makes me want to check it out and see what it’s actually like.

@digital_carver
Last time I looked, not that many interesting posts were coming up, and instead there were ads for SpaceX, audio channels that didn't seem to work, and lots of spam posts if I looked at trends or searched for something. Tbh it looked a lot like MySpace/Xanga/ other networks did before they died.

@sphere_au

For me it’s mostly posts by the Musketeer himself, a lot of meta-Twitter talk, and the rare interesting post from Tim Urban.

Tbh the ratio of interesting posts hasn’t changed much for me, only the content of the uninteresting posts has shifted to mostly focus on one billionaire.
