I'm not against abortions or "illegal" gun ownership. People would do abortions or adquire guns even if illegal.
Now, using tax payer money to fund abortions is NOT acceptable. Using taxes to fix others mistakes is a waste. People must be responsible for their debauchery.

@waltercool @Wearenotcattle using taxes to fix mistakes can be okay if it is cheaper than dealing with consequences of not fixing them.
State: Nah, wouldn't buy you a pill, I'd better pay to raise the kid in an orphanage.
In some cases the govt should even commit to fixing mistakes right away and even pay for that.
This, of course, has consequences too and will generate an incentive structure.
There is another problem, lot of people wouldn't accept abortion as something ethical neither moral. Why would you use their tax money for that? Under conservative eyes, you are killing an innocent life who can't defend itself with their money.
The easiest solution would be some NGO funding this, so people without moral conflict would help to pay that.
In terms of orphanage, there is a basic law for this, every person born in the country is a future tax payer (or a soldier). For nationalists, this is just an investment in the long term.
