Yes, indeed. Giving attention to the whole end-to-end software/solution development lifecycle.
In the case of p2p networking at scale this rises above the individual project and into entire (multi-disciplinary) ecosystems where e.g. open standards are fostered.
Here we as a commons are particularly bad in organizing sustainable efforts. Our 'technology substrate' is not commons-based and thus rife for corporate entry and eventually takeover.
