Hi Mastodon, I’m new here!
I'm an #earthquake scientist (#geology #geomorphology #seismology) who has studied at plate boundaries (New Zealand) and stable continental regions (Australia). I now work on seismic hazard. I’m here to share info. about earthquakes and to learn from other earth and earthquake scientists. At the moment I’m a bit obsessed with seismic swarms! I might occasionally toot about other things… like music 🎶

So you want to visit an active volcano? I wrote this blog post a while ago, hoping to give people more of an idea of what to expect, what to think about, and what the dangers might be.

"This is a scary blog post to write. Why? Because even if you follow every bit of advice here you could still get hurt on a volcano"

Hello - here's my #introduction. My name is Dan and I am a geomorphologist, ice cream maker, backcountry enthusiast, rookie fly fisher, dog (x1) and human (x2) parent, and husband.

Hi, Jorge here. My #Introduction

I am originally from Spain, but I have been living for nearly 20 years in the #UK, lately in #Sussex.

I work with satellite images, producing geological maps and cross-sections. I work in mineral and oil&gas exploration.

My interests are #cycling, #photography, #synth music/instruments and current affairs.

I write in #English and #Spanish.

Hey, y’all. My name is Chris. I’m a geoscientist, working for the engineering company Jacobs. I’m from Derby, but currently based near Manchester, on the side of the Peak District, which allows me to do two things I really like; running and cycling. When not messing fiddling with the Earth, I’m usually found discussing social justice issues with a pint. I’m the woke Black man that your granny warned you about…

Hi! I'm a #volcanologist in #NewZealand (not part of Australia) working on a few different things, but mostly Ngauruhoe #volcano, or the real Mount Doom from LOTR.

I have been working to get #eruption information out to people over on the bird app and through media when needed, and helping people learn about our volcanically active planet.

Now part of the #Twittermirgration and hopefully ready for the learning curve. #Introduction #Scicomm
