@veronica How is it? It's on my progression path. Curently doing ITIL 4 and AWS Engineering basics atm. Prety new to the industry but enjoying the job slinging subpar sql :)

@gamingonlinux so I bought brotato cause of you, now I must tell you I hate you because I don't want to put it down.

Damn, Dungeons & Dragons cancelled this Wednesday :(
Might go and see what other games are going on though.

Should really go to bed, busy day at work tomorrow but can't stop playing

Trying to buy a house is so stressful, offer accepted and provisional mortgage from bank - but can't move forward until mortgage is 100% accepted. Another week of not knowing :(

@yayoi272@mastodon.social I'm hoping to get down soon myself!
Just as a note, in case you weren't aware - Star And Shadow Cinema is nearby to the BF and it's excellent.
I went to see Bladerunner: Final Cut last night, great atmosphere and all volunteer ran!

Another friend is just north of where I live and took these shots of the Northern Lights tonight. WOW!! All the colors!

@matari Drive might be my favourite, I read the book by James Sallis which I enjoyed too (not read the sequel yet).
I've been going through Gosling's filmography over the last few months, 'Lars and the Real Girl' is definitely worth a watch!

Eventually getting to watch La La Land! Only three Gosling films left after this :)

One more episode of left to watch, man episode 7 is some fantastic TV.

@Eignablanco I have an internal dialogue, often a few fighting for my attention actually.
Interestingly, I have no minds-eye. I can't "visualise a beach", or relive a past event. My memory is quite strange because of this, I can read a book or watch a film - and quite often I couldn't describe in detail the media that was just consumed. However if i went back to the same book or film, I know what's happening, happened, and what will happen - almost like I need a reference point.

Interesting, and kind of related I think :)

@freemo It amazes me how the collective mind can fester so low in the gutter.

Tomorrow will mark our first episode of #XeroBytes podcast season 2 for 2023, and we starting it off with a bang ! We will be Live at around 10AM Eastern playing #RedEclipse #Linux #xp Boost/Reshare.

@slanderoid @bookstodon

I have a similar experience with video games, "It's like Dark Souls but with [x]"...

... it never is though is it.

I enjoyed 'The Measure' by 'Nikki Erlick'.

Admittedly there were a few times I started to waver over the repetitive themes and conversations. However, the characters are well written and the human reaction is believable.

The book is science fiction based, but outside of the first chapter's explanation of the strings' arrival and their meaning - the Sc-iFi elements cease and the rest of the book is an interesting story of cultural response and relationships.

@gpowerf

What else are you playing at current?

I've spent the majority of my time playing Overwatch2 which has been my main addiction since OW1 in 2016.

But I'm also doing my third playthrough of Elden Ring! Very excited for some PVE DLC to release, the game runs so well on linux - better even than on my Windows SSD.

@gpowerf

I thoroughly enjoyed that game, I booted it up on my arch gaming rig on the first Sunday following release.

I finished it on the same day in about ten hours, one of my happiest gaming moments of last year!

Enjoy!
