Finally reading an introductory article about Particle Swarm Optimization.
It's been on my to-do list for way too long, it's very interesting and my first introduction to social optimization algorithms.
The article I found is quite nice, simple to understand and broadly outlines some modifications and alternatives to this method.
Thank you Federico Marini

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) A tutorial by Federico Marini and B. Walczak
It's 13 pages total and quite a pleasant read
It has a few examples which have been very useful in my case, but it is applied to chemometrics thus if you don't work in that field you might find the example of little use
