Remember how we used to think that the cops were listening to our phone calls when we used a pay phone?
I don't know if that's true, but that's how we should treat all online communication. Assume that none of it is secure. If the cops want it, they will get it. The only exception might be a system that you built yourself that really did destroy data, but if that app sends data over the public internet, it's still susceptible to eavesdropping even if it's encrypted. the cops would have to really care about what you're doing though to go through that level of effort.
