@frameworkcomputer just sent me an email announcing the release of new BIOS for their 13th-gen Intel laptops. Yay!

...Which is not available on LVFS. For crying out loud. It's a free service. It's integrated into multiple distributions. It's the way to support firmware updates on Linux. It does the heavy lifting. Supporting LVFS is sine qua non for first-class support for Linux.

It's a real disappointment that they are ignoring this amazing community resource.

It could reduce their workload and they just aren't bothering to use it, even though they've set up an account and used it sporadically. Why would anyone go halfway on LVFS? My mind boggles.

@falken @frameworkcomputer right, they haven't used it consistently which is almost worse. They are actually set up to use it, clearly have the knowledge, accounts, and permissions dealt with, and then just don't use it for a large part of their customer base.

Doesn't mean "I'll never buy framework again" but it's frustrating.
