You're right, and also, it's a public marketplace where people can make whatever they want, even if it sucks. Thankfully based on the comments it seems like the extension straight up doesn't work so hopefully it just stays non-functional.

It should remain nonfunctional because it's a privacy nightmare. But it should have been allowed to be there in the first place.

And the fact that LibreOffice shared the article is a clear sign that they legitimate this kind of thing existing.

The marketplace still has rules, you can't add literally anything you want to it and allowing AI plugins and then sharing news articles about them is a choice on part of the foundation/LibreOffice.

Users have a right to choose when I get a right to choose whether my power bill subsidizes the AI datacenters pushing my water-wealthy area into drought.
