Hi Raspberry Pi experts, I can't sort out this error: 'GPIO not allocated' for a HyperPixel 4.0 rectangular touchscreen connected to a pi 4B. Here is the full report I filed at the support forum:

forums.pimoroni.com/t/gpio-not

What can cause this error if no other devices are using the pins? How to overcome it?

@albertcardona is it the thing where some pins are already allocated to SPI? I had that recently with a LinuxCNC on Pi build. I had to adjust the gpio config.

@concretedog

Yes, thank you, I did disable the SPI and I2C as I detail in the forum post. Hence my puzzlement. What else might be using these GPIO pins?

@albertcardona @concretedog physical damage to pins, connectors, cables at either end? Have you a multimeter or other way to check continuity?
