"Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has made the country one of the deadliest for journalists. More than a dozen local and foreign correspondents have been killed there in the past year while on assignment."

I was talking to some folks today about why Ukraine is dangerous than other war zones, but in a totally different way.

Unlike in Iraq, there is little to no danger from the general population. We don’t need to worry about IEDs…

But what you do need to worry about is the randomness of artillery and explosions, which on some days are in every direction

And that means that the threat - and stress - of danger and death are constants as long as you are in country. And it doesn’t let up until you leave.

And doesn’t let up ever for Ukrainians 😢
