@Gosunkugi I tried one, It made shit chips, I even tried oven chips in it and had to add some oil to make them even edible, Which negates the whole point, paid about 20 quid for a deep fat fryer from Amazon - best money I ever spent!
Proper chips... done properly, cannot be beaten, also fried chicken second to none...

@favus As a lifelong chip junkie I've always been working on getting it perfect. But you know what? A small oil spray bottle, a quick dab, and the air fryer will do the job more than adequately. Oven chips cook in half the time, fresh spuds par boiled for 10 mins come out incredible. I think you have to pop round to mine to get a sample.
Don't get me started on the chicken. There's no way I'm ever going back to using that amount of oil.
