We should really have a social statute of limitations. I propose five years.
Like, if the government won't convict you of a crime because of how much time has passed, I don't really see why society can't forgive you for doing something racist/sexist/etc then. People change.

People do change, but that has to be a measuable thing. I mean, if someone keeps doing the same thing after saying they changed, then that speaks for itself.

@fortewily of course. I'm talking about the stuff like politicians doing blackface ten years ago, or celebs making a racist joke ten years ago. If they're currently bad then they're currently bad.
