When they changed fire alarm code on us in MD it didn't matter one iota, unless we were looking to rent it out. Maybe an inspector would note it at sale time, but it wa still the buyer's choice.

@finity well, we’re looking to get windows done on the house. if we get them done, they have to be certified by a texas department of insurance engineer otherwise insurance won’t cover our house if something happens

if we don’t change the windows we’re covered because the code they were built to is grandfathered at this point, but the windows are super old and need to be redone and it’s looking like no matter what, our windows are going to be extremely expensive because we need impact resistant windows installed x.x
