Be careful with the photos you take of your baby on your phone - this article isn't the only reason, but it's a good one.

You aren't going to take a photo that matches one which Apple checks for... But many many people will take photos that fall into the "false positive" category, triggering human review.

@finity bro I have a newborn and my wife took some photos of us giving her a bath the other night (via iPhone) and I had just read an article about this a few hours prior 😬

I hate these corporations so much it's unreal. very seriously looking to go 100% self-hosted everything with FOSS hardware/software solutions and abandon *anything* corporate/proprietary entirely. it seems like the only way to maintain privacy and security. is it really too much to ask that I want to be left alone and have a private life outside the prying eyes of govt. + capital?

@1iceloops123 @kino and don't use an iphone or Android, which can take these actions regardless of where you upload.

That's a bunch tougher.

@kino my wife shares photos like that with family, fortunately my caution has generally gotten through to her and she's somewhat careful with what's in the photo. Most of the time.
