The report comes in the wake of news that Iceland wants to kill more fin whales, the second-largest animal on Earth, and Japan wants to resume hunting them.

A nice review by Tim Howard of my collection Intervals of Darkness: “Ray Newman’s 2022 collection of weird tales, Municipal Gothic, was one of the best things I read last year; his new collection, Intervals of Darkness, is perhaps even better. I tore through it in a couple of evenings, eager to see what horrors and/or delights the next story would bring.”

Jung, Koch and Quentell were artists who created many famous educational scientific diagrams of insects and plants that would hang in schools all around the world. And all designed to stimulate a kind of scientific curiosity in young people.

Images were once more rare in education; more thought was put into what they contained.

Finished another beetle drawing with added environmental detail! Used a Pentel Graphgear 1000 (4B) and a 6B clutch pencil to create texture and light play. It’s fun how these small touches can make a big difference! 🌿 #sciart
