Remember that classic old Aliens door poster most of us Aliens fans had as kids?.
I thought "I wonder if I could recreate it in miniature?" So I grabbed a Xenomorph figure, smashed a dolls house door to smithereens and lit that baby up! I'm pretty chuffed with the outcome!

All practically shot. Real smoke, lighting, miniatures and figures. I added a bit of digital goz to the Aliens mouth but that's all.

Brace yourself for this one: Black holes the size of an atom (!) that contain the mass of an asteroid (!!) may fly through the inner solar system about once a decade (!!!) and could explain dark matter (!!!!) and if one flies by the moon or Mars, we should be able to detect them (!!!!!) https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/dark-matter-black-holes-could-fly-through-the-solar-system-once-a-decade/
The water was still enough to see an incredible wave extend in front the beaver’s head. I’ve seen beaver many times but never in such still water and at such a low angle to capture just how far the wave trough is in front of the beaver. What a way to kick off fall in Northern Nevada! #nevada #WildlifePhotography #truckee

I know it looks like some heavy photoshop, but if you expose for the brilliant white of the Egrets the shadows of a small cove in the reeds become a black hole….
I spent yesterday chasing a pair of Roseate Spoonbill that somehow ended up in northern Nevada and got some good shots, but the egrets stole the show. 🤷♂️😆 #BirdPhotography #nevada

There are places on Skye which do not attract vast numbers of tourists but which offer a quieter, less busy experience. If you are good at map reading and have a guide book it isn’t to difficult to find them. The main thing, as with every place you visit, is to give yourself enough time to visit the star attractions as well as to find the places that are off the beaten track. A quiet welcome awaits you…

More exhibits from the Glasgow Hunterian, including Mastoid infections of the inner ear and a hook for their removal; a placenta, a glass of Joseph Lister’s urine, and an obstetrical training doll. #anatomy
I now have made enough chickens that I could make some kind of security thing for a website.
"Select all the chickens that are facing to the left."
Thought I'd test my reflexes today, Barn Swallows were flying low over the saltmarsh on the Duddon Estuary. Pleased to get this juvenile feeding up before the long journey South.
