Twitter friends: I found this paper published in my name, in a journal I never submitted my research to, an article I never wrote. Have emailed the editorial team to take it down but no response so far. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice on what to do?

Fascinating paper on the way in which the word data is used in social and physical sciences, and how that has changed over the last 30 years. Curiously narratives in papers seem to move from data being used to data being owned.

‘We made a mistake.’ Omicron origin study retracted after widespread criticism doi.org/10.1126/science.adg390

This case clearly demonstrates why researchers should preprint their work:

"Drexler agrees that posting a preprint would have avoided the publication and retraction of the paper. It didn’t seem necessary to rush the information out because it didn’t answer urgent public health questions, but 'I do regret that in retrospect,' he says."

@JVLazarus The conclusion that masks work, and that better masks are needed to address the DOMINANT airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 is the consensus of almost 400 international experts in the major DELPHI study led by @JVLazarus in @Nature:
