So tomorrow im going to go shopping for a bike. Being int he Netherlands its pretty much mandatory and since I've already lost 40 lbs (~26 kg) I feel like im ready to start biking again.

I think I'm going to go a bit crazy and get myself a fully decked out recumbent bike ( legfiets in dutch). Something like in the picture. I never rode one before so going to see if I can try one out first.

@freemo I just bought a TREK Powerfly 7 - Bosch pedal assist, Amazing bike. Has a battery and helps just a bit, I'm recovering from a motorcycle accident, so the assist is welcome. I lived in Achterveld (about 45 minutes away? from Utrecht) back in 1977-78. I really miss the Netherlands. Enjoy your ride!

@mydogisahusky How does it compare to an ordinary bike in terms of effort per distance? is it three or two wheels?

@freemo My bike is a standard two wheel mountain bike configuration w/4 levels of assist. Eco, Tour,Sport, and Turbo. In Turbo, the torque is magnified 400% of your input effort, the system senses how hard you are pressing on the pedal, and multiplies that x4. Lance Armstrong power, if you want it.
Here, they also make INCREDIBLE powered recumbents from other manufacturers. I reccomend looking at EBR (Electric Bike Review) on YouTube.

@mydogisahusky I'm not looking for electric just regular. I have a separate electric scooter for that.

@freemo Yes - in the Netherlands, the pedalling is predictably easy, fairly flat. I live in the mountains of New England, so I need all the help I can get.

@mydogisahusky yea the netherlands is pretty nice about that. Plus im in it for the exercise :)
