Not my first, though it is my first piston style fountain. I've had one fountain pen from cross and used disposable fountain pens a lot. Though I just started getting into picking my own loose ink and using hte piston style to fill the pen. I bought a few specialty inks to try it out.

The demonstrator I got comes apart completely. Looks really easy to clean, can't speak to if the plastic will stain though.
I actually just bought an additional 4 pack of wings at a decent price, all demonstrators. So I plan to put a different ink in each of them. I also got a slightly more expensive demonstrator from another company (same design) to try out. I figure having multiple pens for multiple inks makes the most sense. This particular model I'm hoping will be a breeze to clean when it does go empty though.
sure you can take it apart but i won't recommend doing it too often; parts might become loose over time or you might accidentally drop something into the sink. usually just repeatedly drawing in and expelling water until it runs clear is enough for cleaning
having multiple pens inked with different colors sounds decent on paper but unless you're rotating through them daily most of the nibs will probably just dry out
