I can relate in the sense that in an ideal world I would like open borders as well. However in practice I have come to the conclusion you cant have both an open-border and a welfare state. You can only pick one.

Otherwise all the poor will always migrate freely to the countries with the best welfare and all the rich will migrate to the countries with the lowest taxes. The system breaks down and doesnt work.

Open borders or welfare, we can only pick one IMO.
