I was able to export/import my follows into the new account on a different server and within minutes my home feed was the same as I'm used to and felt like, well, "home". I haven't done that many times before so it's still fascinating to me.
I know that many people don't consider it a real migration path unless the old posts and all the followers move over, but for me being able to drop people who weren't interested in my personal thoughts, or who weren't active, was a feature and not a bug.
