Yea sadly to encrypt a DM there would need to be some sort of fancy client side javascript going on. Plus it means people with javascript disabled couldnt view it. Plus there are all sorts of security issues that would have to be considered to make such a thing possible. The idea has been on my mind and while technically doable it would be non trivial and may not offer the best user expiernce/consequences. For example a lost password might mean all your past posts are therefore lost.
