This pretty much sums up america (and other english speaking nations) in this thread about a 3rd grade math problem for a few reasons:

1) It just shows how grossly unintelligent most people, especially americans, are that they arent even educated at a 3rd grade level or in the most basic of math.

2) It shows Dunning-kruger effect that has infected americans. Despite most people clearly not having a clue as to how to do this basic math problem these people getting the problem wrong are claiming to be math experts. Sorry but among those who studied math NO ONE would disagree on this problem

3) It shows how rampant lying is a huge issue in english speaking countries particularly when it comes to "being right" about pretty much everything. People claimed to have advanced math degrees and yet clearly couldnt even do a third grade math problem. I have never met ANYONE with such a degree who would disagree on this problem, no way.

Do americans and british even realize just how pathetic they look anymore, seriously?

@freemo I would argue that there is no possibility to figure out whether or not people have actually become dumber as there has not been any meaning to identify these form of unintellectual debates prior to the invention of social media. At least some people now know how stupid humanity actually is and probably always has been.

@sozialwelten I'm not sure if people got dumber or not. All I know is that they are currently dumb, and i suspect they probably have been for a while now.
