Traditionally in america I was always left leaning, but in modern times I'm strongly anti-left in the USA.

Oddly in the usa i lean right of center, in the netherlands I lean strongly left.

Funny how that works. If the left just cut out the violence and anti-free speech nonsense I'd happily go back to supporting them in the USA again.

@freemo The left in the US seems to be very different to the left in Europe

@Saederup92 Barely similar, far more extremist and violent. In the EU they are generally respectable however.

@freemo What are some examples of violence or anti-free speech nonsense from the left in the USA?

@stevenroose Well I was witness to hundreds of such incidents over the years growing ever more frequent. The last one I witnessed which triggered me fleeing to the EU was when I witnessed well known antifa (dressed in the uniform and folks I interacted with earlier in that day when the Antifa was organizing) throwing explosives at an older couple (and others) for wearing a MAGA hat.

Not sure what explosives they were, some sort of high yield illegal fireworks. Something bigger than an m-80 firework by the looks of it.

While this was one of the worst incidents the others I recall (which id be happy to reiterate) were still pretty horrific. Including but not limited to kicking someone repeatedly while on the ground in the gutter, also an older fellow who wasnt violent in any way prior to that.

@freemo But those are not actions of political figures, right? I mean white supremacist literally kill people weekly.. What I'm saying is that the supporters should stand for the politics itself, otherwise I think the right-leaning politics is just as bad as violence is everywhere.

@stevenroose Correct, they are actions of the general public, which to me is far more concerning than politicians. They effect my daily life to a much greater extent than any politician can.

Yes white supremacists also literally kill people weekly. bu the same logic I am also anti-white-supermacist too.

But I can say that as a person who has Native American ancestory and a pride in that, as well as proud of my European ancestry I have always and consistently been attacked far more often and consistently by the left (usually white identifying me as white) than the incidents i have experienced fromt he right (which while far far more rare is admittedly at times directed at my Native American side).

As someone who lives in both worlds, and identified publicly as a member of both worlds in the end I ultimately fled because I felt unsafe around the left in america but i felt far less safe among the right in america.

With that said it doesnt justify the violence fromt he right either. I just see it in far less frequency than the violence of the left, by a huge margin.
