Here is a screen shot of my i3 setup upon request. Also including my qtile screen shot for comparison. Both really cool tiling window managers.

Looks like my stort of style. but I think im happy leaving it at qtile and i3 (spent enough time playing with this).. Plus while qtile is my favorite i3 is the most popular so I feel I've covered my bases with those two choices.

@johnlitt

@freemo @johnlitt well you should give it a shot one day! Pretty easy to write scripts for it as well

@QwertySpace

Next time im in the mood to hack a new WM I'll take a look. Thanks.

@QwertySpace

How much i enjoy it will basically boil down to how easy it is to get it looking nice, and how far i can take that.

@johnlitt

@freemo @johnlitt well it works with i3bar, polybar, and Compton. Has gaps be default. So it shouldn't be hard

@0xDEADBEEF

Yea on archlinux at least i3-gaps is what is installed when you install i3 group.

@freemo @johnlitt

Thanks for the heads up on qtile! I've been happily using i3 for a few years now but the siren song of even-more-insane customizability sure is tempting...

@Ademan

I actually was really surprised to find how obscure qtile was particularly along side i3. For me qtile keeps winning when i compare the two. The only advantage of i3 is there are more example configurations to steal from, assuming you can even get someone elses configuration working :)
