@freemo
It is german :)
"Winkel" translates to "angle" i think
@snder

@Vael

Thanks, i started to suspect as much. What the german word for a store or shop?

@snder

@freemo
"Laden" or "GeschΓ€ft" or we just use shop too
@snder

@Vael

Wool thanks. Its weird sometimes German is basically just dutch with extra letters. Sometimes they arent even in the same ballpark.

I live int he netherlands trying to learn it but I must admit german would be easier.

@snder

@freemo
I know that feeling. Sometimes when i read dutch i feel like i understand it but i actually have no idea. Classic case of "well yes but actually no"

@Vael I only speak english so i feel that way no matter what language I read :)

@Vael @freemo I lived in Spain for 2 years and now I'm in Portugal. Portuguese and Spanish are very similar to German and Dutch. I'd say like 60-70% of words are similar and easy to deduce. 30-40% of words have nothing in common and if you try to bend them into the other language, they'll stare at you or laugh, depending on how well the know the other language.

@stevenroose

Spanish would liklier be easier for me just due to my exposure in America.

@Vael

@stevenroose
I second that. I've made the same experience with spanish
@freemo

@freemo @Vael

It’s German indeed! I can speak and read some German but I’m no star in it haha
