This meme has been circling around for at least 3 years now, it gets more true everyday...

@freemo Column #2 will get eaten by column #3. Column #1 is the only way.

Also, Mudasir could've told John his buddies were gonna blow up the concert where John's daughter was killed. But he didn't. Let that sink in.

@rasterman Nah gets eaten by both column #1 and #3 sadly. But just because two forms of evil are likely to prevail doesnt suggest that either form is "the way to go".

@freemo True, actually. Column #2 is the naΓ―ve child that doesn't understand the world it lives in. Column #1 can sustain its civilisation long term. So I'll go with that.

@rasterman No it has nothing to do with naivity.

Extremism and polarization is self-reinforcing. Over time it will always destroy the rational people who refuse to give in to extremes, that is sad but true. It is however no reason to abandon rationality and fairness.

@freemo Extremism and polarisation is what happens when the parasitic elements of society are left alone to do their thing.

During the past ~250 years, column #3 slowly gained ground over column #2. Column #2's nobility will mean little when they are eradicated.

@rasterman all the more reason to ensure column #2 doesnt get erradicated then.

Just because evil is winning is hardly a good excuse to let it win.

@rasterman The same as the other columns, whoever stands up and does it. It is free for anyone to adopt and enforce as anything in this world is.

@freemo Doesn't seem like column #2 has much of a chance, really.

@rasterman I dont do whats right based on if it is popular or not with others,

@freemo If the end result is the erasure of the civilisation you were standing on, it was not the right thing to do.

And losing with grace is nothing to be proud of. Just look at Republicans. LOL

@rasterman Except that isnt the case. Picking column 2 does not have the end result of civilization. Picking columns #1 and #3 results in that. Your argument was only that it was inevitable, which even if that is true then going along with it speeds up "the end" doesnt slow it down.

So sorry but there is no logic in what you say, just mental gymnastics

@freemo Except that is exactly the case. Column #2 as the tepid centrist that doesn't even realise there is a war between the r's and the K's going on is slowly destroying the civilisation column #2 enjoys, but didn't build. Reactionaries, on the other hand, were good enough keeping civilisation going for 5000 years, with ups and lows. Progressives are just about consuming resources and will never stop if given the chance to exist. The end of column #2 is not the end of civilisation. Just of the Enlightenment one that was destined to lose from the get-go.

So sorry but there is-- eh, basically what you said, but thrown back at you.

@rasterman Wow man what a distorted view of the comic you have riddled with assumptions that dont exist.

The middle column is not about being a centrist. It is about not being politically dogmatic in your treatment of others.

It is about treating people how they demonstrate they deserve, rather than based on a label. It is about not living a life defined by the dogma of your place on a political spectrum.

@freemo Wow man, what a short-sighted view of the implications the comic is conveying.

>It is about not being politically dogmatic in your treatment of others.

Losing strategy.

@rasterman you are even dogmatic about your need for dogma, what a sight!

@freemo This is nothing. You should see me in other conversations. You'd have a blast reading my posts.

@rasterman If its half the train wreck your comments have been on this one it would at least be worth a good laugh.

@freemo In your misguided interpretation of the world, it will be a constant string of trains running over pennies on the tracks and falling to the side.

@rasterman Notice the left says "left wing" the right says "right win"... the middle doesnt say "centrist" though... should be your first clue.

@freemo Acknowledged. If one says left wing and the other says right wing, obviously the centre must be the common sense column.

@rasterman also the assumption is that Mudasir's buddies were going to blow it up in the first place. But the truth is since he doesnt know the person personally he has no idea if that is true or not. More likely that not none of the people he calls buddies were intending to blow up anything and in fact likely denounce those who do.

@freemo Mudasir is not aiding terrorists by keeping quiet? Controversial statement of the day.

@rasterman Who said mudasir was keeping quiet? Or that he even knows any terrorists with which to speak out on.

All of that are assumptions that have no basis on any context in the cartoon unless you just have inherent prejudice towards people like him.

@rasterman Ahhh good to hear you dont believe that dribble, LOL. Its more common than you might think

@freemo If you mean "NAXALT", it's tired that it needs to be said over and over, so I ignore it; but it's statistically true.
@p @freemo
you can tell it's old because of moral samefagging at the core of it. That was the edgy shit back when Sargoon and Mundane Matt were the thot leaders of the interwebs.
