Mandatory lockdowns, arresting people for being outside (esp. when social distancing or with family members), arbitrarily forcing companies to not reopen, etc.
@realcaseyrollins Mandatory quarintine in the event of pandemics is fine. The key is simply ensuring it is based on data to ensure it will be transient.
I'm more concerned about the lack of checks against it. Some criteria that dictates when it must end and under what conditions.

I'm curious; what is the point of continuing the lockdowns? And is the #Coronavirus a good enough reason to starve people? Because we all know that starvation has a higher mortality rate than the #Coronavirus.

P.S. governments would never agree to a fixed, objective standard for when to lift the restrictions, because this isn't really about the #Coronavirus, in my view. These despots want power.
@realcaseyrollins Except the "despots" arent, as of yet, gaining any power that is useful to them. Unless they plan to prevent people gathering indefinately, which of course can oppress free speech, it isnt really doing them any favors.
@freemo What are you talking about? They are weaning people off of indipendece and #capitalism, and trying to put the entire nation on wellfare via these endless stimulus checks at the same time as killing as many jobs as they can without blowback.
It's not going to be instant, it's more of a slowly boiling frog type thing, but if the left has their way, #capitalism in the #USA * will * be dead and we will be ushered into an era of nationwide poverty and lack of resources.
@realcaseyrollins Its hurting the economy and putting people on welfare, no doubt. But again unless the lockdowns last forever, it is a temporary consequence.
The idea that it is some plot to permaniately move the country to communism or some such is just silly in my mind.. it could turn into that if we keep the lockdowns in place forever, I agree, which is why like I said we should be pushing for their systematic attenuation.
But I dont think that is some "plot" per se but rather something some actors will take advantage of if the lockdown is allowed unchecked.
@freemo I know, not everybody sees it. (Neither did the boiling frog, BTW.) But it's still real.
You can deny it if you wish, it's not like this is something these politicians are outright claiming they want to do, save a radical few. But pay closer attention to the more fascist of the governors and you might be able to see a little bit of what the freedom fighters are worried about in this regard.
Some politicians do want indefinite lockdowns, or lockdowns until we get a vaccine, which is basically the same thing. Listen for the keyword "new normal". That means they will never willingly give their citizens all their freedoms back.
