I'm only a little over a day into keto and I've already gone feral.. I'm microwaving up hot dogs straight from the pack and eating them right our of the microwave.

@freemo As of yesterday I used keto, intermittent fasting and caloric restriction to drop 50 lbs since August 15th of last year. It felt a lot harder in the beginning then I just got used to it. Good luck on your journey.

I have lost significant weight when I've tried keto in the past, so I do know how effective it can be. Its just these first few days that tend to be a bit rough.

@freemo Yea, I think they call it the keto flu. I only got it the first time my body went into keto. After having cheat days I never got it again though. Or maybe I was just so miserable on the diet I didn't realize I had it again 🤣

@wileECoyote Thankfully I dont get the keto flu too bad (feeling sick and flushed).. I'm really just talking about hunger, my appetite is just too much usually and its what gets me. The reason keto works well for me is once you go into ketosis, which takes about 3 days the normal feeling of hunger I (and most people) get just goes away. Obviously there is also a craving of carbs on top of that that makes the hunger a little worse the first 3 days.

But yea once I'm into ketosis I wont even care if i eat at all most of the time :)

@freemo I can't remember if I craved carbs at the beginning, but I do know that I lost a lot of my hunger feelings. I take a magnesium supplement and I read that helps reduce hunger too. Together with the intermittent fasting, I don't eat til like 4-6pm and even then I can eat like only 600cal and be good til 9pm for bed. The only things I crave these days are Burger King and ice cream. Good for cheat days when it gets too bad.
