This was the view from my house in philly just a few hours ago before the sun went down. The rioting is serious and the whole sit is on fire now!
I cant believe I'm dealing with this shit and was called racist and "victim blaming" for say calling our rioters as immoral actors! My fucking city is on fire now!
@freemo
How did you expect #cronyism to end, though?
FYI it all started over an "alleged" counterfeit note(s). Ask yourself who the biggest #counterfeiters are and things start to come into sharper focus.
@dsfgs
I expected it to end with people organizing against and attacking the government. Not any random white person and business they can find.
@freemo
It does seem that that is largely what's happening.
There may be outlier violence that doesn't embody the spirit of the protest, but the wider community will come together to repair.
Fediverse might be in a unique position to help people stay connected, uncensored and (thus) sane.
Stay safe!
@dsfgs
Dude i live in a city rioting. The skys were black with smoke last night. Businesses on fire everywhere, 13 seriously injured i dont know how many died from beatings last night. Since pretty much any and all random whites seem to be the target prople are hanging up signs in homes and stores sayi g "minority owned" and "minority i side" so their house doesnt get burned down
No that isnt what is largely happening the rioters are a disgrace on every level.
@dsfgs
It is absolutely a problem on both sides. The george flowd murder was horrific and i have no doubt police continue to abuse power too.
But two wrongs dont make a right. the rioters are just as morally guilty as the police is the point. Just by me shaming the rioters doesnt imply im praising the police.
