I have noticed that toots are being boosted a lot more than being favourited on Mastodon. I've seen toots with 19 boosts but 0 favourites. Why is that? This contradicts the majority of other social media platforms where people usually like or react but rarely share or repost.

@Pixificial probably because unlike other platforms likes/favorites dont mean or do anything. On facebook if you like something it will be prioritized more, so there is value. Moreover on facebook, unlike here, if you like something both the author and the people tagged/replied to are notified, here its just the author.
So overall favorites on fedi doesnt really offer any value, retoots do.
