Just migrated over from lastpass to gopass (a backwards compatible extension on top of pass)... The browser extension could use a little work but overall im pretty happy with it so far.
@freemo@qoto.org Have you considered Bitwarden? I've been using it for years. It's free and includes cross-platform sync.
@sergeantcat bitwarden is one of the ones I considered but ultimately ruled out for gopass. gopass also includes cross-platform sync but I feel does it in a better way than bitwarden (by syncing to a git repository, thus there is a immutable history).
@sergeantcat Just FYI the git feature isnt the main reason i picked gopass over bitwarden, but it was one of them.
The main reason was that bitwarden used AES symmetric encryption. I wanted a solution that used PGP so I could use my existing keys and most importantly opening smart cards which is more secure since it would take the physical key AND the password to circumvent.
There are other features too but the pgp support was the deal breaker.
@freemo@qoto.org that sounds pretty hardcore. thanks for letting me know. it's beyond my needs at the moment but that might not always be the case.
