If you need a crisis hotline but talking on the phone is a barrier for you for any reason the trevor project is a great alternative. It is a hotline you can do via text message.

If you need help please reach out to them. My DM is always open to and anyone having a hard time needing someone to talk to is always welcome to reach out to me.

@Raccoondude LOL yea apparently all lgbt people must be depicted in cartoons with colorful hair ::shrug::

I kinda dont like they made it LGBT specific, I was it was more general so people didnt think it was LGBT only.. but eh, they are trying.

@freemo A lot of LGBT people feel isolated, so I suppose its for that

@Raccoondude Yes for sure, and im glad they cater to LGBT and dont doubt they are a huge portion of the people that need the service.

I am just worried a non-LGBT person might see it and think it implies its a LGBT specific hotline and therefore pass it up.

@freemo @Raccoondude the colors sometimes are code signs for shit, like :blobcattrans: there are other stripe codes for enbys, lesbians and whatever. i dunno if that's why they do it but sometimes it is.

gays especially used to have an obnoxious amount of hidden signs in piercing configurations and other jewelry.

@icedquinn

Yea the "flags" are usually specific symbols for specific orientations or genders. But I often find even when its not cartoons and of LGBT characters always have unnatural colored hair which itself seems to be a strong idication in both cartoons and real life that a person probably isnt CIS-het

@Raccoondude

@freemo Seriously tho this is really good of you to share, def adding this to my "support" repo

Boosting as well

@freemo The Trevor project's text line told the police that I had been sexually abused, even though I made it clear that it was not ongoing. A detective came to my house and outed me to my mom, before they pressured me into going ot the station and talking for hours about my abuse in detail, which stuck with me for years.

Don't trust these people with anything even remotely sensitive.

@Citrine That is very sad and maddening to hear. so sorry. No excuse for that.

How did they know where you lived?

@freemo A detective who called me beforehand, and asked for my address, saying that a report had been made that someone was abused. At the time I didn't believe it, and refused to give them my address. Around half an hour later the detective showed up, aparently they can get that information pretty fast. I guess they reported it directly to a station close to my area code or something, because it was the same night.

@Citrine I guess the hotline has caller ID and you didnt block your number (not that you should have to, there is an assumption of trust)

@Citrine @freemo Holy crap you are fucking with me?! I JUST talked about my shit, im fucking glad they can't do shit because im an adult

Minors have it rough man

@Citrine @freemo Wait you aren't even a minor??? WTF, I thought therapists can't report CSA if the victim is an adult without their consent

@Citrine @freemo Yeah sadly minors have a bullshit law that mandatory reporters HAVE to report CSA, adults don't have it for some reason

@Raccoondude @freemo fuck mandatory reporting, any hotline that abides by it cannot be trusted.
