Oh man I cant get enough of these #KyleRittennhouse memes.
To be clear I dont support violence. I do think he is innocent because its self defense. But I have no problem laughing at the dank memes considering the people who were shot and being made fun of here were the ones trying to assault him and he only defended himself.
@herag agreed, even in self defense it is sad people died. But the people who died were trying to kill or at least assault him. When you do that you loose your right to life.
@freemo
That is true. Gosh... I hate this so much. I feel really bad for Kyle. I hope he is in therapy.
I used to be a counselor for Marine that came back from Iraq. Just seeing the dead and not actually killing anyone, but they suffered severe PTSD.
This may make me a bleeding heart, but damn after seeing 300 lb men of war break down in my office, I can't imagine how Kyle, a kid, must be reacting inside.
@herag he is a 17 year old kid who intended to do good. He treated several people before the shooting. During the events he consistently tried to run away from conflict rather than to use violence (which he used only as a last resort). Last thing he deserves is to live with this.
@freemo
True. I would expect that I would also have to live with it if I killed someone for whatever reason. Honestly, I'm glad he had a gun. But I wish he didn't have to have it with him. But I'm glad he did and I'm glad he had the right to have a gun with him.
@herag Truth be told if he hadnt had a gun he probably never would have been attacked. He was attacked because simply having a gun caused people who are against guns to attack him seeing it as a threat. So in a way if he hadnt had a gun he probably would have come out better off.
That said, he has every right to have a gun, so thats no excuse for people attacking him at all. It also could have been any random situation where the gun could have saved him if the random number generators were a bit different
@freemo I do hope he learns a valuable lesson from the whole experience regardless of anything else I feel about him.
I'm also trying to have a compassionate view of the world though tbh. I can only hope others would treat me the same way, otherwise idk I'm not completely afraid to get violent myself tbh.
@Zest I'm not really sure what lesson he could learn. Seemed to me he was acting as a protector of others and people assaulted him without any cause. If anything I kinda hope he doesnt change due to the incident.
@freemo not every lesson must result in change of that nature to have value.
@Zest this is true.
@freemo
I am with you on this... the memes have been super fly
It is still just terrible that people died, but you can't deny it was purely self defense after seeing the trial evidence. I am just glad I'm not Rittenhouse, I don't know if I could live with myself anymore if I shot someone and watched them die.
I could feel it deep down when he broke up on the stand.
