For anyone who wants to see **all** video evidence from the night of the shooting for yourselves here it is compiled into a single video:

Seems obvious from the footage it was self defense. He was chased and even people threw things at him before shooting back.

@freemo it's very blurry and chaotic. hard to say exactly what went down and who's at fault.
the idea that some people say that he "shouldn't have been there" is bad though IMO. there's nothing wrong with trying to be a hero

death mention

@freemo I think if his assailants were about to kill him then it was justified to shoot them. not if they were just about to hurt him

death mention

@Hyolobrika
I dont think a person needs to sit there and take a beating just out of sone notion that if i hit you you cant shoot me. If you violate a persons right to safety you loose all rights to yours.

That said he did try to run first ao it wasnt like he used it as the first resort measure

death mention

@freemo I think it's just simple moral calculus. On the one hand we have physical, but not lethal harm being done to one person. On the other we have the killing of three (?) people.

death mention

@Hyolobrika yea thats not how morality works. You cant just leave out the fact that the one person being harmed is innocent, might have died, and might have had a life time of inuries and think that 3 bad people who initiating the harm are some how equal to the person they are harming.

not all harm is equal, if you punch me in the face and I put a brick wall up so you break your hand instead of hurting me, thats not my fault.

If you go and try to kill/assault someone with a gun, they run and you try to catch them and you get shot it is the moral equivelant of you punching a brick wall or shooting yourself in the face.

The idea that an innocent person should just sit there and be beat up or killed because it would be wrong to hurt the person trying to kill you is absolute moral nonsense IMO.
