@Jojothegoodperson I think thats an awfully prejudices view against immigrants that isnt as true as you might think. Immigrants, historically, have been the brightest minds we have had whether it be Tesla or Einstein.
@Jojothegoodperson Oh you mean once they got here, due to racism, many immigrants became poor and uneducated. Yes on that we agree. The racism of the past put in motion a viscous cycle that is hard to break even now where racism is far less than it used to be.
@Jojothegoodperson It seemed to be a good take from where I'm sitting.
@Jojothegoodperson USA I take it?
@Jojothegoodperson I wish i didnt, but yes :) I do live in the USA as well as the netherlands on and off.
@Jojothegoodperson I wasnt aware you were African American until just now, not that it makes a huge difference of course. But yea, I'd agree that there are issues internal to the AA community, there are shared issues, and there are issues thrust upon you, all of which ultimately give rise to all sorts of problems.
The crime rate of the AA community is a tough one because in part it comes from what you said earlier, racism of the past has caused a lot of harm in terms of things like lack of education or even just psychological abuse that ultimately gets passed down between generations.
@Jojothegoodperson Ahh so that would make you gray :)
I dont know if this is offensive or not. But I know when I was younger the kids that were black-white mixed in my friend group were called "oreos".
I wouldnt say they are incapable, thats a bit too harsh. Only that the wounds run deep and tend to get passed down and takes a conscious and sizable effort to reverse the damage historic racism has done.
We all wish casey was here. There is an easy way to tell when people wish @realcaseyrollins were here. Look around, if he isnt here, then that is that is so.
@xarvos
I dont like the idea of fault. But yes the predominately white population certainly had a significant hand to play int hat.
@Jojothegoodperson @xarvos @freemo Hmm, lemme check the OP
immigrants are taking away our economic opportunities
I actually don’t think that’s the case rn. Our main issue is #COVID lockdowns and supply chain issues.
Caucasians were blinded by their racism and malice.
Close! I think they were blinded of their racism and malice. As a whole, I don’t think most whites completely understood (or understand!) exactly what racism was. They took the civil rights era to mean that they should stop treating black people badly, when in reality, they needed to stop being racist.
So, the immigrants were very uneducated and they had to historically work bad paying jobs. So, these years of racism messed with the intellectualism of our immigrants.
So, in other words, the immigrants were uneducated about economic and how to do businesses hence our American system is fucked up.
I really disagree with this. Immigrants are smart and oftentimes make more money in the #USA than they did in #Mexico, IIRC
> They took the civil rights era to mean that they should stop treating black people badly, when in reality, they needed to stop being racist.
Providing examples of what those two would look like would be helpful.
So in your opinion treating blacks preferentially is still racist and bad and treating them in a more color blind way is preferable?
Well looks like you are going to have to man up and deal with accepting it. Its your own damn fault for being an awesome person. You made your bed now you have to lie in it.
In other words, I am trying to basically say it's the Caucasians fault for their human development and uneducation.
