You are correct on plain vanilla mastodon. But QOTO has quite a few extra features and formatted posts is one of them.
He is more than welcome to use my code if he'd like. Not that its really my code, I took it from a PR I think.
@xianc78 @freemo @Jojothegoodperson HTML isn't the best idea tbh unless it's highly sanitized, but markdown support would be nice.
